About this role

Under the direction of a Senior Manager or Partner the Manager is responsible for preparing complex tax returns, researching tax issues, and completing special projects as they arise. S/he demonstrates leadership qualities, assumes a supervisory role and delegates work to Associates and Senior Associates effectively. The Manager follows the company procedures to meet firm-wide requirements.

  • Plan and manage multiple client engagements and review complex tax return including federal and multi-state returns.
  • Own client relationships and related work.
  • Delegates tasks to Associates and Senior Associates providing technical guidance and expertise.
  • Work closely with staff, and assisting management in mentoring, coaching, training, supervising, and evaluating staff.
  • Will develop efficient work habits producing work that is accurate, organized, and timely.
  • S/he practices effective communication when planning and completing tasks.
  • The Manager displays planning and organizational skills by establishing plans of action for each engagement and delegating assignments appropriately based on the individuals’ abilities.
  • S/he works with Partners and Senior Manager to review, correct, and provide direction to ensure proper completion of work.
  • The Manager promotes every opportunity possible -within the firm, client referrals, recruitment candidates, etc.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 5–7 years of proven experience in accounting is required.
  • Must have experience in managing, mentoring, coaching, training, supervising, and evaluating staff accountants.
  • Experience in Tax planning, reviewing of complex tax returns, including federal and multi-state returns is preferred.
  • Strong background in U.S. tax accounting, including tax preparation, processing, and reviews, is essential.
  • Must have hands-on experience with multiple tax and accounting software platforms.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills are required.
